Steve has over 19 years of experience providing employers of all sizes with a high level of professional expertise. His aggressive leadership has helped his employer clients to establish sound benefit strategies, which have enabled them to attract and retain the best employees.

Steve started his career as a pension underwriter for the largest pension provider in the United States, The Principal Financial Group in Des Moines, Iowa. During his tenure at The Principal, Steve worked on large national accounts, conducted retirement and investment meetings for large employee groups and worked directly with employers to help them increase employee satisfaction and appreciation.
Steve later founded Russell Benefit Consulting (RBC) and spent over nine years providing clients with exceptional service, new innovative ideas and a high degree of one-on-one personal attention. RBC’s solid track record of success, service intensive approach, extensive pension/retirement expertise, and commitment to client success were a perfect fit for a merger with AscendUSA in 2010.
